Monthly Maintenance Checklist

Hull and Deck

Check that winch turns freely, lubricate

Clean teak-deck

Clean wheelhouse and deckhouse

Inspect cockpit drains and clear debris

Electrical

Check battery charging switches are in proper position

32-volt DC system

• Port battery switch – "On"
• Starboard battery switch "On"
• If 32-volt DC ship service selector switch "1" (Starboard)

then

move 32-volt DC ship service selector switch "2" (Port)

else

• If 32-volt DC ship service selector switch "2" (Port)

then

move 32-volt DC ship service selector switch "1" (Starboard)

12-volt DC system

• If 12-volt DC ship service selector switch "1"

then

move 12-volt DC ship service selector switch "2"

else

• If 12-volt DC ship service selector switch "2"

then

move 12-volt DC ship service selector switch "1"

Clean battery terminals and tighten

Charge batteries

Check battery fluid level and top-off with distilled water

Inspect shore power feed

Test air conditioning and heating is working properly

Test all navigation and instrumental lights

Test refrigerator and freezer

Test stove burners and oven is working properly

Test that winch turn freely, lubricate

Plumbing

Check through-hulls, seacocks, hoses and clamps

Engine -- Includes both the drive engines and the electrical generator

Check engine oil and coolant levels

Check filters for leaks

Check forward and reverse shifting

Check idling speed R.P.M.

Check the fuel tanks fittings and hose clamps

Inspect shaft and rudder stuffing boxes for leaks

Test bilge blower and inspect vent

Run engines for 15 minutes

Transmission

Check transmission oil level
          Fluid level is checked with engine off and using 30 weight oil

Bilge

Test manual and automatic operation of each bilge pump. Inspect that area is clean
