The mechanic arrived at 07:45 with the new starter motor and started the installation. Breakfast was coffee and toasted bagels with cream cheese. The mechanic finished the starter installation of the new starter. Then with the engine and transmission fluids checked and all the electronic gear tested, Independence got underway at 09:00. The weather was sunny and warm with a temperature in the high seventies. Boat traffic on the ICW has started to thin out. Lunch on-board was a boiled shrimp salad. By afternoon, the sky was turning gray. Later in the afternoon, it started to rain and hail. Independence headed for the Half Moon Marina near St. Catherines Sound. Independence refueled taking on 157 gallons of diesel fuel. The marina owner lent his car and dinner was at a little seafood restaurant off Rt. 95. By 21:30, everybody was in the rack asleep.
