Monday, May 10, 1999, Day 10, Dock Holiday Marina, SC With the engine and transmission fluids checked and all the electronic gear tested, Independence got underway at 07:05 after a quick wash down of the hull. The weather was predicted to be sunny with a light wind and calm seas. Breakfast was cheese omelets, toasted English muffins with butter and jelly. Lunch on-board was tuna fish salad sandwiches with potato chips. The cruising day ended at 17:30 when Independence pulled into the Swan Point Marina in Topsail Beach North Carolina. Independence refueled taking on 135 gallons of diesel fuel. Fuel consumption is running at 13 GPH. The marina provided a courtesy car so everyone went out to help stock-up on provisions. Dinner was at a local restaurant near by. By 21:30, everyone was back on board and in their bunks. |
